My Foundations classes taught me about the reading and writing processes that occur in the human brain, and then showed me the different instructional strategies to use to ensure that learning is taking place in my students. I learned about how students develop literacy and how I can personalize learning in my classroom for the different learning styles. The way that the human brain learns a language and acquires vocabulary was of special interest to me because I am an English Language teacher in an elementary school. A new research that I learned is Action Research, which was a process that I used to examine learning gaps with my students, an analysis for those gaps, and then what instructional strategies can be used to close those gaps. It was a fairly lengthy research method, but it was very specific for learning needs.
